Task

You are tasked with creating a lesson for a Middle School Language Arts class on Parts of Speech.  You have just been designing the curriculum and lessons, but want to make sure you are incorporating what you know about Cognitive Learning Theory into your lesson(s).   

Task One:  Choose a part of Speech to focus your lesson on (i.e. Nouns and Pronouns).  If you need a reminder on Parts of Speech please review this site:  http://partofspeech.org/

Task Two:  Use the steps and links on the Process/Resources Page to build your lesson.

Task Three: Reflect.  Please discuss whether you think focusing on one learning theory in particular when designing curriculum changes an Instructional Designer’s design for the better, worse, or not at all.

After you go through the Process, you should be turning in:

  • Miniature Lesson/Example that employs your choice(s) of Cognitive Learning Theory
  • Explanation of Cognitive Learning Theory used in lesson
  • Reflection/Answer to Task Three
